EQ Through Play

Emotional and social foundations developed through play.

EQ Through Play is a term-based programme for children aged 3 to 5 years, delivered in partnership with preschools and early-learning centres.

Through stories, movement, creative activities, discussion and guided play, children build early foundations for understanding themselves, relating to others and navigating everyday social situations.

What the programme is designed to support

EQ Through Play gives children practical opportunities to build emotional language, social understanding and everyday relationship skills.

The programme does not expect young children to learn through long explanations or formal classroom instruction. Concepts are introduced and practised through developmentally appropriate experiences.

A broader developmental approach

Emotional intelligence is one part of the programme. EQ Through Play also considers child development, behaviour, relationships, communication, context and the everyday situations young children are learning to navigate.
